An old split cedar post probably dating back to the 30s or earlier ... they last forever. Oldman River Valley, September 23, 2020. We have some cedar posts that are used in winter as "fat feeders" for the downy woodpeckers and northern flickers. The rancher I got them from dated them at circa 1910.

Clive, nicely done! Quite a variety of wood presented as a collage. Wooden steps. Lundbreck Falls (Crowsnest River), September 21, 2020. Beautifully composed shot, with the inclusion of the human element.

Here is some wood that I shot this morning on a walk in the woods at Woods Memorial Nature Area. Thanks Dennis and Brenda for the theme ... and Sepiana for hosting the challenge. Bill, it looks like a great place to go for a walk -- the winding path leading to the deep woods in the background, beckoning us to follow. Beautiful! What a finding! I love it. Yes, yes, I can see it. I believe in faeries. (Conan Doyle, are you listening?)

We had planned a day trip to Batsto Village today. When I saw the topic for this week I knew I would have many opportunities to take some pictures for this theme. Helen, it looks like a great place to go to searching for wood. You captured two very unusual structures. Very nice!

A couple old wooden things. First an old wooden wagon wheel that has seen better days and the second is barnboard that looks new but is in fact quite old as it was the inside of board from an old building being demolished so had never "weathered". The saw marks apparently indicate the type of sawmill it was sawn in. Tony Tony, two great shots. My favorite is the first one -- a circular shape against the straight lines of the wall behind it. Very geometric!

Out and about yesterday. Real wood - an old oak - with a sprig of poison ivy. Jim, perfect finding for this theme -- an old oak stump. Great job capturing its details!

Stopped by this venerable old oak on a walk today and was looking for a different point of view -took several but I'll go with this one taken from the bottom looking up. Tony, glad you went for looking up. Beautiful composition! This is one of a kind shot.

We started fall decorations - this sign is made of wood Pete, and just in time for this challenge. Sharp and clear image! Very nice!
