If anyone following this thread is still curious about the ACR 9.1 update, . . . Elements 14 gets shipped with this update. Since I can't use PSE14 on my present Vista PC, I had a look yesterday at the pdf help file... and it still shows version ACR 8.6 !!! |

Here it is October 3 and 9.1 is still not installing. I'm supposedly "up to date" on everything but still have 9.0.

9.0 was the last official camera raw for elements. However they did seem to release it for elements 13 for a very short time and then withdrew it. Adobe never released it properly for elements 13. Some users have managed to get it working in elements 13, others have tried and failed, the reason is not clear. Unless you have a new camera that needs the update, you should be fine with 9.0.

Some got the ACR 9.1 update via Help>Updates; some never did; and others succeeded in manually installing it in Elements 13. I have no idea what happened behind the scenes with Adobe and this update.
If you need ACR support for your camera, you have these options.
You could try a manual installation. I am not sure it will work though.
OR
Upgrade to Elements 14.
OR
Download the DNG Converter, a free Adobe utility which will convert your camera's Raw files to the non-proprietary DNG format. Once your Raw files have been converted to DNG, they should open in the Raw Converter in Elements 13.
As a side note: Elements 14 was shipped with the ACR 9.1 update. Since then Adobe has released another update -- ACR 9.1.1.
