Have seen plowed fields but never thought much about how they were worked. Interesting.

These barns are on the South side of KY Hwy 1446, just West of the Monroe County High School, near Tompkinsville, Kentucky. They are not the greatest examples of photography, but the photos document the location for future improvements. There is only 340-yards and a fencerow between the old roofless barn (the Westernmost) and the Gambrel Roof barn (nearest the school), with the red barn in between. Like several other barn shots in this group, I hope to return to them, get out of the vehicle, and get better shots with which to replace these. Buckskin, Can I join in here? I just found this thread, and I LOVE old barns! I have lots of old barn pics. I will have to look for more... These pics I took in 2009. This first one is from an Amish farm kinda near where I live. This one is NOT a barn, but a farm tool and I did like what I found this day!

Buckskin, Can I join in here? You are more than welcome and you for sure have some good ones. I have quite a few and need to just quit everything else until I get them all gathered and posted.

I enjoy looking at all the barns that have been added to this thread, BuckSkin . I am thinking that some may have been lost due to your storms. Inspeqtor , glad that you found this thread. You have some wonderful old barns. Hard to pick a favorite but I do like these two a lot.

I am thinking that some may have been lost due to your storms. The same thoughts have been going through my mind. In the last couple years, we made three roadtrips right through the middle of the tornadoes path and I am wondering just how much of the things we saw may now be gone forever. One thing about such old buildings that is a bit reassuring is that, although many look about to collapse, they have obviously managed to not be in the path of storms, else they would not have lasted as long as they have. Although storms don't always follow the rules, it has been my observation that there are paths they seem to follow from storm to storm.

I keep expecting that 200-pound loft door to fall off while I am looking at it; somebody could get klonked in the head.

I keep expecting that 200-pound loft door to fall off while I am looking at it; somebody could get klonked in the head. I never thought about the fact THAT door might weigh 200 pounds!!! Holy cow!! How do I edit my post to get rid of the script "showing date and Inspeqtor said:" I HAD erased everything inside my post wanting to only quote what Buckskin posted?

Charles, In the BBCode editing mode, . . . Delete the author = "Inspeqtor" quote box. The one between your quoting of BuckSkin's post and the sentence starting with "I keep expecting that . . .".
