SOLVED ... SEE LAST POSTI have a Logitech K350 wireless keyboard and this morning it is acting strange...like me. With some letters and special characters the right shift will work but the left shift will not and vice versa. Neither left or right shift work with some letters or special characters. Left shift does not work with the $ sign but right does. Left shift does work for caps d, i.e., D, but <shift><d>does not work with right shift. Left shift special characters: @#%^&*()_+ … no dollar sign Right shift special characters: !@#$%^&*() … no underscore or plus sign Neither left or right shift work to make a cap “T”. Can only make a cap T with <alt><84> ... but not <shift><t> using either left or right shift Tried an old wired USB keyboard and it works fine, except I don’t like the keyboard. (I am using that right now.) I cleaned the keyboard and gone through the Windows ”sticky key” routine as per several websites. Settings were correct and nothing changed. In device manager, I checked for driver updates and they are all up to date. I can uninstall the keyboard/mouse combo and re-install. Hate doing that, but guessing that will have to be done. Suggestions welcome. Thank you. Clive

It could be that something is interfering with the signal; it could be something you wouldn't even imagine.
An external hard-drive is one possibility if it has been shifted to a new location.
Also, some new wireless or Bluetooth toy could be interfering.
Your Pacemaker, new hearing aids, or the new wireless electric dog fence could be the culprit.

Thanks Buckskin. The keyboard is inches away from the antenna .. same as always. I started using a new western digital external hard drive a few days ago but it is currently not connected and the keyboard worked fine when it was running backups.
I ran the Logitech Firmware Update Tool and it said all was good.
Okay this is weird .. the Logitech K350 is attached again the cap T in Thanks Buckskin did not work so I had to use <alt><84> .. but when I typed 'Update Tool' the caps T worked. An now it does not again.
Maybe I need to rip off the shift buttons and clean the key board!

Maybe I need to rip off the shift buttons and clean the key board! Done. Surprisingly clean under the keys. No help there. Still not working. I'll wait to see if there are other suggestions and then likely uninstall the Logitech drivers/software. (Hate this stuff .. .I just want things to work properly. )

Does it have a battery that can be changed? If it’s rechargeable, is it fully charged?
Sometimes it just needs to be thrown out and replaced.

Found this and it's sounding like a hardware issue with the keyboard. Read the attempted solutions. Hilarious. - Bloodletting a chicken and praying to Azathoth, Lord of Mechanical Engineers and Welshmen
That has BuckSkin written all over it. That's a compliment, BTW. He also wrote: I've also noticed that if I hold down a the keys in a non-functioning combo (like say Shift & S) and let go of the Shift key, it will properly write the characters. (So, instead of holding Shift & S and getting an S on the screen, I'd hold Shift & S, let go of Shift, and then it would produce the character on screen).Mine does the same thing. T T Press <shift><t> and if I release the shift key, the T is caps. I'll check with where I purchased it and see if it's on warranty. Doubtful. Thanks.

I was wondering if it was new; apparently not!
Its value now may be in affording you a cleansing "Office Space" moment!

SOLVED!This will come as no surprise. It was the common I D ten T issue. i.e. ID10T ... being me. The tilde key was stuck down and that affected function of some keys. Red face. Thanks for your input!

I can so relate to this Clive!! Thanks Judy! I keep good company, is that what you are saying? I was close to ordering another keyboard as apparently this was off warranty. Then awhile ago, I was writing to Bob's My Cousin in Oregon and needed the tilde. Not only was it stuck down, it took quite a tug with a dentist's tool to loosen it. I had already cleaned the keyboard with canned air and was surprised how little numph and grunge blew out. I never noticed the tilde (~) key being down. Oh well.

I never noticed the tilde (~) key being down. Maybe it happened for my benefit as I had never before heard mention of a "tilde" and still have no idea what it is for. There are two choices on that button; which is the tilde and what is the other ?

which is the tilde and what is the other ? Tilde (using shift) is this ~ I use the ~ as "approximate". Back when the earth's crust was still warm, and I was in school, the double tilde (≈) meant approximate or about. "There are ≈100 sheep in the field." Easier to use ~ when typing. ≈ is a special character created by <alt><247> The other is ```````````` no idea what it is called or what it is used for. The plot thickens! If the ~key was stuck down (it was), then why was the computer not typing rows and rows of `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` ? ?
Hummmm ... PS. This ` is a back quote. No idea ...

Do you recall if maybe during the life of the keyboard if a cup of coffee or any other 'nasty' might have been spilt onto the keyboard?
Maybe order a new keyboard so you have one ready to go if the current one goes off to the computer gods suddenly.
Sounds like the keyboard might be giving you subliminal warnings.
