Hi everyone, Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread. The rules are rather simple.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.

Billz - Very different perspective on the courthouse steps that adds interest and draws the viewer into the image.

While out today I saw this fire escape on an older building in a near-by town.

Another fire escape - on our local town hall/theatre. Declared unfit for purpose a few years back but retained as decoration on the victorian era building. Tony

You've captured a well-composed assortment of textures, colors, and historical architecture. Thanks Jim. I’ve taken a few shots of this spiral staircase before from various angles but was pleased today to find the tree in bloom beside it so had to find an angle that included both the tree and the staircase in the same shot. Visited the Heritage Junction Historical Park in Newhall, CA. today. Lots of interesting vintage things to see there.

These old steps descend a steep alleyway between houses in Woolwich, Nice. Would you know the age of those steps?

Hm, can't say for sure and couldn't find anything online, but I would think they date from the late nineteenth, early twentieth century, when housing was extensively developed in this area. The steps themselves are solid blocks of stone, granite at a guess. Nowadays they would be cement, less durable but easily repaired or replaced. Sorry can't be more precise.
