Nice. They look quite inviting and sort of take you by the hand and lead you right up to the entrance.

I would think they date from the late nineteenth, early twentieth century, Thanks.

Floodlight poles at our local football ground. Steps (rungs) are awkward to see, as I was very restricted as to where there were gaps in the shrubs.

I was sitting lost in thought on the bus yesterday when I suddenly realised that I was unexpectedly gazing at this week's theme, the mini staircase for those travellers who prefer the upper deck. i.ibb.co/XLjGpqF/1.jpgThese old stone steps are a nice feature in the churchyard of Clayton church, at the foot of the South Downs in Sussex. i.ibb.co/Rcm8rsS/2.jpgBrenda

This is a colour photo. It is a dull, hot day today. The steps on the Transporter Bridge are at the left. A lot to climb. A concrete pavement runs along the top. The steps on my side of the river were removed years ago. Too many suicides I imagine. I have walked across several times (when I was a teen). I also saw more telegraph pole steps while I was down by the river.

Here's a different slant on this week's theme: how many steps does it take to walk 31 miles? That's the challenge that many runners/walkers were facing yesterday. I encountered them in droves as I toiled my own solitary way along the South Downs for just 13 miles and a bit. Rather them than me! i.ibb.co/MGhYV1d/3.jpgBrenda

Courthouse steps this morning. Thanks for the theme Sepiana. Bill, a visually pleasing image due to the perspective and symmetrical composition. The kind of image that keeps one going back to it, to enjoy it fully.

From a morning walk round a local garden to admire the spring flowers (and the steps!) Tony, interesting steps. The sleek-looking railings make quite a contrast with the stone steps. Great capture!

Staircase from platform to street level at our local railway station. A lift is also available! Dennis Dennis, very effective composition -- the staircase fills up the frame, drawing the viewers' eyes all the way to the top.

While out today I saw this fire escape on an older building in a near-by town. Helen, the shadows on the wall add visual interest to this image. Great job!

Another fire escape - on our local town hall/theatre. Declared unfit for purpose a few years back but retained as decoration on the victorian era building. Tony, great shot! The inclusion of the tree with its soft blooms is a nice contrast to the lines of the metal fire escape.
