These old steps descend a steep alleyway between houses in Woolwich, south east London. Matthew Matthew, old yet beautiful steps, standing the passing of time. Great capture!

Stepping up!
Steps to board the vintage locomotive's engineer's cabin parked at Heritage Junction Historical Park today. Jim, colorful, sharp, well-composed shot. Great job!

Floodlight poles at our local football ground. Steps (rungs) are awkward to see, as I was very restricted as to where there were gaps in the shrubs. whippet, great finding! These are not run-of-the-mill steps. WOW!

I was sitting lost in thought on the bus yesterday when I suddenly realised that I was unexpectedly gazing at this week's theme, the mini staircase for those travellers who prefer the upper deck. These old stone steps are a nice feature in the churchyard of Clayton church, at the foot of the South Downs in Sussex. Brenda Brenda, the one with the photographer's eyes. My favorite is the 2nd shot. Great job zooming in and capturing the texture and details of these old stone steps.

This is a colour photo. It is a dull, hot day today. The steps on the Transporter Bridge are at the left. A lot to climb. A concrete pavement runs along the top. The steps on my side of the river were removed years ago. Too many suicides I imagine. I have walked across several times (when I was a teen). I also saw more telegraph pole steps while I was down by the river. whippet, more unusual steps! I really like the second shot -- with the focus on the telegraph pole, making its steps the star of the show.

Here's a different slant on this week's theme: how many steps does it take to walk 31 miles? That's the challenge that many runners/walkers were facing yesterday. I encountered them in droves as I toiled my own solitary way along the South Downs for just 13 miles and a bit. Rather them than me! Brenda Brenda, great "slant". I really like how you captured them going away from the viewers and into the background. It's an invitation for us to follow them. 13 miles and a bit? I'm in awe. Kudos to you!
