What is the tank in the front of the barn for?
275-gallon tank for tractor fuel; most likely diesel fuel.
They are the same tanks one sees up against houses or down in basements for furnace oil, either #1 Diesel or Kerosene.
Look behind THIS BARN and you will see one as well; although, instead of oval, that tank is round.

The Old Red Garage and Red Barns
Located on the South side of KY80, that red garage building has been a landmark since before I was born. In the 1980s, I landed there one hot day in my 1978 Chevrolet and changed a flat tire on my loaded cattle trailer; even then, the place had been closed for years; there was more gravel parking area there then than now.

The Big Red Barn
Located on the South side of KY80 The old bank barn, which is featured in another shot, is at extreme left on the North side of KY80. Ahead of us is one of Henry Lawson's numerous homemade garbage trucks.

The Old Bank Barn
Located on the North side of KY80, this old bank barn has been here ever since I can ever remember. There's that homemade garbage truck again.

Claudie Godsey Horse Farm "That'd be it"
Located on the South side of Ky 80 In the fall of 1997, the first time I ever saw Henry, he was in that first lot on the left; he was 3-yr-old at the time. I peeled off six big hunnert-dollar bills, handed them to Claudie, and took him home.

Flatwoods Quarter Horses
Located on the North side of KY80 Even today, and ever since I was a kid, for the next several miles you can wipe the crude oil off your lips. Just about every farm has at least one producing well; most don't produce much, maybe two to four barrels per day; the most I ever heard of was sixteen barrels per day; but, they keep producing, rain or shine, day and night, and it adds up. Plus, just about all of these wells were brought in back in the 1960s oil boom when, instead of a measly eighth, like most get now, back then, the land owner could hold out for a fourth and that is locked in. So, considering that, a two barrel well here gets the same check as a four barrel well elsewhere.

Does this qualify as a barn? If not, I'll remove it.

Does this qualify as a barn?
It sure looks like a barn to me.
I am trying to decide whether it is laid up out of stone or if it is laid up of cut squares of sod.

Does this qualify as a barn? Do you know if it is made of stone? Seems so. I am trying to decide whether it is laid up out of stone Hard to determine the height, but I'd say stones. Assuming it is (say) 100 years old, sod walls would not be so straight, right?
